MEDICAL STUDENT TRAINING PRACTICE
In 2022 the practice was revalidated and we were able to take on medical students and train them for a year. We have trained new students and most recently Dr Hannah McCullough has successfully completed her GP training and has qualified as a GP. This has been very rewarding for the practice and it has helped to develop our practice, they bring a wealth of new knowledge and skill mix.
Dr Orla Fitzsimons is our delegated trainer and all the other doctors are involved in training too. We take on ST1, ST2 & ST3. We also take a medical student from UU every Friday for 38 weeks. We also have medical students from Queens University twice a year.

Mrs Briege McFlynn (f)
The Midwives provide maternity services. They are involved in antenatal and post-natal care, offering support and education in preparation for parenthood. After delivery, they will visit your home. This gives the new parents confidence and answers any fears and concerns that they may have. |
Community Nurses
Our District Nursing team carries out assessments and treatments in your home environment. Our nurses have undertaken further specialised training, and on many occasions, are able to advise the GPs. Sometime, their treatment is best done in the treatment room, provided the patient is able to attend. |
Health Visitors
Mrs. Noleen McAleer and Mrs Triona McCann are registered nursing sisters, who have undergone further training in health education and promotion. They can offer support and practical advice on a different range of health issues. The child health clinics give the parents the opportunity to discuss the health and development of their child. Visits and assessments are also made in the home. |
